Self-esteem, self-respect, self-confidence, self-doubt…it all starts with you. I think it is imperative to get into the habit of speaking words of affirmation to oneself, because a lot of the time we fail to recognize our own self-worth. If you don’t like or believe in you, who will? Amaright??? Can I get an Amen??? Okay, but seriously though…you need to be able to look at yourself in the mirror and genuinely love and respect the person staring back. If you don’t, you’ve got some hard work to do.
One of the things I’ve learned in life is that fear is a part of the process – acknowledge it and move past it or you will never make any progress.
Here are some things to practice to help on your self-growth and development journey:
- Take a lesson from every experience
- Set S.M.A.R.T goals
- Don’t compare your journey to someone else’s
- Don’t beat yourself up for things you see as failures
- Always strive to keep learning
